What's happening?

CCAF offers a full day of exciting activities for the public on all things related to visual storytelling.

Artists' Alley! Professional comics creators as well as students and alumni of the Camosun Comics and Graphic Novels program will have books, prints, and original artwork on display and for sale. You may even find some drawing comics right at their tables — don't miss this opportunity to chat with the creative minds behind the comics!

Panels and Talks! Listen as the comics pros divulge their secrets, and indulge your curiosity during question period.

Demonstrations! Watch as artists show their techniques for creating comics art.

Comics Jam! Make your own collaborative visual stories. A comics jam is like a musical jam — everyone adds something to the story, improvising and riffing off of the last panel drawn. Paper and tools provided. No comics experience necessary, and fun for both adults and kids.

Draw a Superhero! The Superheroes of Victoria will once again be joining us as models for Super Life Drawing. Step up to an easel and try your hand at drawing Batman or Wonder Woman, with a live model for reference! All materials provided, no experience necessary.

Guests! Nelson Dewey, Karen Gillmore, Janine Johnston, Sam Logan, Glen Lovett, Glen Mullaly, and Alex Steacy.

Keynote Talk!  Hosted the next day, April 17th at 6 pm by Bolen Books at Hillside Centre, featuring special guest creators Tony Cliff, Faith Erin Hicks, Sam Logan, and Renee Nault.
